INSPECTION FREQUENCIES 

Inspection frequencies are assigned by the "category" of license.   The frequency also takes into consideration the type, form, quantity, of radioactive materials possessed, the scope & extent of activity, and guidance from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  Typical inspection frequencies range from annually to once every four years.  The table below outlines the inspection frequency by license type.

Please note that these frequencies can either be made MORE RESTRICTIVE (i.e., a more frequent inspection) or LESS RESTRICTIVE (i.e., less frequent inspections).  The decision on deviation from the "normal" inspection frequency is made almost entirely from your COMPLIANCE HISTORY.
