| This information is being provided for licensees who are applying for renewal or a new license for an irradiator. The guidance for self-shielded irradiators is good for both medical and non-medical (R&D, academia, etc.) settings. The agency follows the guidance set forth by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for wet-storage panoramic irradiators. The requirements for this type of license can be found in 10 CFR Part 36.
